PERSONAL PROFILE

A highly dedicated and creative digital graphic designer. With several years’ experience in various inspiring and exciting projects crossing multiple platforms. A dynamic team player is keen to try new ideas and engage in problem-solving when achieving project goals. Open-minded with a great sense of humour.

With a passion for new and exciting design combined with working with a creative approach to the clients’ needs has led to an impressive portfolio of projects and working in many professional design studio environments. Industry aware, with proficiencies in Adobe CC packages (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign), knowledge of 3D design software (SketchUp), other software packages including MS Office, plus PC and Mac systems.

In my spare time, I love to go fishing, play video games and read books. In 2015 I completed a GCSE in Astronomy and finished two short courses in Japanese in 2017. In 2020, I began studying video game development with the Zenva Academy online courses.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Whilst working with The Crystal Palace Festival, The Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG), YMCA and Kings Recruitment Agency I clearly demonstrated my ability to work to strict deadlines and within budget, whilst tactically solving problems that arise on design and web projects.

I was also recognised as a flexible and adaptable individual with clear and concise communication skills.

Whilst employed at Royal Museums Greenwich in the Design Department, I learned and proficiently used the SketchUp 3D software effectively and to the required standard and with little training. I then used the product and demonstrated an evident ability to produce high quality and detailed work. Recognised as a strong team player within these environments who can present viable output using prescribed and industry-standard methodologies.

In 2019 I started a voluntary graphic design role for The Crystal Palace Festival. I was fortunate enough to work on a wide range of projects, including designing flyers and posters for local businesses, large-format banners for festival events, and creating digital content for social media platforms. My work also got featured in the 2019 Crystal Palace Festival guide book.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Crystal Palace FestivalVolunteer Graphic Designer
April 2019 – Present

Working as a volunteer on a number of projects for the Crystal Palace Festival in 2019, including an advertising flyer for Reunion Cafe, artwork for the festival social media pages, and large-format vinyl banners. Working with the Crystal Palace Festival I produced artworks for a variety of clients, as well as the SE19 Lates Project, this includes social media artwork, large-format banners and artwork for the SE19 Lates Christmas flyer.

Royal Museums GreenwichDigital Designer, 3D Modeler
October 2017 – February 2018

As part of an internship placement at the Royal Museums Greenwich, I was assigned to numerous projects. The first project was to draw up plans for an unused room within the museum to be remodeled into a storage area for the IT and Design department with shelving and storage utilities. It was then my job to translate the measurements of the room into a 3D model, with shelving and storage built into the model. This was then sent to the contractors to assess the development. The next project given to me was to design a gate-fold leaflet advertising the museums’ library events. I had to work with strict design guidelines given to me by the marketing team and work closely with the project leader and printing company who would print the leaflets. These would then be distributed around the museum for public use. On the third project, I was asked to plan and write a document for a possible piece of software that the design department was hoping to develop for an interactive. The project’s brief is a video game where the user has to construct a moon base for human colonisation, based on the realms of realism. I had to think of game mechanics, how the user interface should look, types of objectives for the user to complete, and how the user will interact with the virtual environments.

September 2012 – February 2015

Worked with a professional design studio at the Royal Museums Greenwich as part of a
work experience placement. From September 2012 to March 2013 I worked on various small projects using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to produce and print screen ready material.
From April 2014 to October 2014 I was approached by the Astronomy department within
the Museum to develop a series of images for production into 3D models. These were a
lunar rover and a Mars lander for the schools’ workshop program. They were produced using SketchUp and later printed on Foamex to produce a 3D puzzle. Currently, I am learning VectorWorks and working with the design team within the Exhibition department at the Museum of an upcoming exhibition.
